With excellent quality (up to 24-bit / 96KHz recording), BWF or MP3 file acquisition, extended battery life, huge feature list and a cost-effective price point, the FR-2LE offers users a more flexible, high quality audio acquisition machine without sacrificing features.
FR-2 LE Launches Into Space!
Yes.. it's true! The Fostex FR-2LE has been selected from a lineup of digital field recorders by IMAX and NASA for digital recording tasks aboard the Space Shuttle (STS) and International Space Station (ISS). It doesn't get too much cooler than that! Read "Choosing the FR-2LE for space flight - By Greg Smith" to find out the criteria that the FR-2LE met to win the digital recorder race to space!
The Fostex FR-2 LE is a 2-channel compact field recorder that records stereo or mono BWF or MP3 files to Type II CompactFlash or Microdrive cards with up to 24-bit/96kHz resolution. The unit features built-in phantom powering, editing functionality, and USB 2.0, allowing high-speed transfer to Mac or PC computers. A pre-record buffer ensures full-take recording with no inadvertant loss.
